Graphic 45 design team Round Two project.

The round two for the graphic 45 design Team Audition required us to make a video. It
could be a tutorial or a three project tour. I made a sample using ABC Primer collectors edition and
then demonstrated how you can use any collection by doing a tutorial using Mon Amour for the same project. I will let the videos speak for them self there are plenty of still photos at the start of each video. I hope you enjoy watching and will give this project a try.

Cheers Andrew

Creating in pairs using Scrapmatts

April is half way through and I have had a very creative time over the last few weeks.
I have been playing with some more Scrapmatts stencils and incorporating some wonderful chipboard.

As you may have noticed I have included the word pairs in my blog post title.
Have ever been creating and end up with left over die cuts, extra paint on your palette
or other materials where you may have over prepared.

What do you do? Do you just toss them out, save them and forget where you put them or
have a big collection that you have good intentions
but never get around to using them.

My projects have ended a pigeon pair as I used up extra paint texture paste and
embellishments that I had leftover from my first project for this month.

I used a few Scrapmatts stencils which I am fast
becoming addicted to.
I forgot to say these two projects I have jumped out on a limb and gone really bright
you might need your sunglasses.

Memo Book

I used the following Scrapmatts products for this project :

CB1158 Butterflies 20
CB1024 Flowers 04
CB5106 Chevrons 01
CB5129 Circle Mesh 02
Stencil ST5001
Stencil ST1002
Stencil ST1010
Stencil ST1001

Simple Tag

The Scrapmatts products I used for the tag were :

CB6113 Scrap Words 32
CB1145 Flowers 09
CB1158 Butterflies 20
Stencil ST1002
Stencil ST5010

I hope you gained some inspiration from my projects for April and will think about how you will your leftovers from other project in your next creation.

Cheers Andrew

Graphic 45 and Mixed Media Techniques

Time for some April blog posts I have been busy with my graphic 45 submission for the final round and Scrapmatts DT projects. They were a lot of un but now it time to update my blog.
I thought I would keep the mixed practice going with a few more attempts at using
my stencils and trio of graphic 45 collections.
I used some tim holtz stencils texture mature and various distress inking products.

For the first tag I used graphic 45 Rare Oddities.
As usual I fussy images from the collection and tried to focus on the key colours
that feature in the wonderful papers.
I love that owl image and tried to make it one of my focus images for the this tag.
The inks I used for the background are perfect for this project
They are distress inks : Ripe persimmon, Seedless preserves and black soot.

The second tag has an automatic masculine feel as I used the great collection
called Good ol Sport. This collection has some of my favourite images to fussy cut
and they this tag pop.
The background has no texture paste this time and I used various distress inks.
I then layered my embellishments and the background became a great frame.
I love the metallic elements that added life to the masculine theme.

The final tag is a more feminine tag and uses the lovely botanical tea collection
This background i tried to make it have a more vintage feel aim not sure how successful I
was but it turned out ok. I also included a couple botanical tea stamped images. I am fast thinking I could become an avid stamper.
The images in botanical tea speak for them selves and work in this collage style
group of embellishments. The pops of colour from the petaloo flowers bring the tag even more to life.

I hope you enjoyed using my latest batch of tags and will leave me some feedback in
the comments section. Stay tuned for my Graphic 45 final round submission and some thing new I have been trying.
Until then happy paper crafting.

Andrew
