Altered ATC with Graphic 45

ATC or artist trading cards are a mini craft project. The scope to use them is endless.

Graphic 45 has a great staples item that I have used to create these two projects, 

their ATC book box

They can be altered in so many ways. The only limitation is your imagination.

I have a bit of an addiction to box projects so these were a perfect fit for me.

The ATC book box comes with three ATC tags inside with a binding ring.

I have used the entire box for this first project.

The paper collection used for this project was Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home.

I started by covering the box with designer papers from the collection.

There was a great selection to chose from.

I left a border to expose the kraft colour of the box and I did not think inking was necessary.

I used the Graphic 45 antique metal door pulls on the sides as the only embellishments 

that part of the box.

The top of the project was where I chose to concentrate my embellishments.

I made a simple chipboard frame inking and then heat embossing it to make it 

look like vegetable crate.

The fussy cutting opportunities with the home sweet home collection are great and chose this technique to fill the vegetable crate on the top. Adhering them vertically 

gives great dimension. 

The inside I cover with one of the more vibrant papers in the collection.

I used on of the home sweet home ephemera cards on the inside of the lid, embellishing

metal corners.

The ATC's I left plain. I constructed a pocket for each to slide into, then embellishing with images from the collection and some corners from the sticker sheet.

  

The second ATC book box project was little different when compared to the first one.

It uses a combination of Graphic 45 collections to make the finished project.

The two collection i urged on the lid and box sides were Steampunk spells

and Mother goose. I thought these collections were a great colour match and had some images that seemed to work together.

I fussy cut some images from both collections and tried to assimilate them together to 

create a unified image.

I think the colours a great combination and i would encourage you to try and 

combine collections for a different look.

When creating ATC's for this box I decided to make make traditional style cards

using five different collections. I also tried to  make a textured background. I do not have much experience with mixed media techniques but I gave it a go.

The Graphic 45 collections I used were Sweet Sentiments, Steampunk spells,

Typography, Botanical tea and Mother goose. The backgrounds were made using texture paste,

Glimmer mist, embossing powders and a collection of different stencils.

Graphic 45 ATC book boxes are a wonderful staple craft item that have so many applications. these are two of my versions of the many versions out there. I hope you will give one a try using your favourite paper collection ( Graphic 45 of course ).

Memories with Graphic 45

 All of us have many memories from events that have occurred in our lives.

With the advent of digital photography we can take plenty of photos and 

display them in many different ways.

This project is just one way that I think you can display photos and journal about the time spent 

with family and friends.

I call this my memories box and is filled with memory folders.

I have used, you guessed it Graphic 45 paper for this creation, six different

collections in total.

I used some of the collections on the outside to represent the folders 

that are contained with in. 

 The box itself was was made using chipboard and covered with 

papers from the Times Nouveau collection. Enjoy some close ups of the sides.

The memory folders were made using one single sheet of kraft card stock an covered with 

different Graphic 45 collections.

Memory folder inside layouts.

There is plenty of space in these folders for photos and journalling and every Graphic 45 collection

 will work when making these, so you can chose your favourites

Christmas Time is Ticking

Christmas is a perfect time of year for decorating our homes. We can be subtle 

or go way overboard. But the the most important thing to me is to 

make it fun and special.

I think one of my top type of project to make would be clocks amongst 

other things. Christmas was a perfect theme for this project. 

The main form of the clock was constructed with chipboard and covered 

with pattern paper.

The christmas collection I chose to use was the twelve Days of Christmas by Graphic 45.

It has classic christmas colours and perfect vintage images tha

 Graphic 45 is renowned for.

I love to make projects detailed but still have symmetry in there form.

The clock face was a die cut and the heat embossed with red embossing powder.

I love the bold look of the clock face, and I framed each side with fussy 

cut images from the collection ( the two nutcracker image are from the graphic 45 nutcracker suite collection ).

The reverse side of the project I focused on the more non traditional christmas images

that reflect some of the twelve days of christmas.

Again I framed the central image. I also used some filigree metal work on the front and

 back of the clock. The following photos are some close ups of the fussy cut images 

that I chose to use.

This was a fun project to make and I love this collection so much I think is, my fourth project

 using this collection.

Time to Flourish

Springtime has just passed by here in Australia as we move in to summer.

There have been some fabulous flowers to see where I live here 

in Tasmania.

There is a place called table cape a couple of kilometres from my home, it has wonderful display of tulips on a farm. They were breathtaking. So many colours and wonderfully vibrant.

Here is a couple of great shots of what I saw.

 The time to flourish collection from Graphic 45 is a great springtime calendar collection that has so many applications.

I chose to focus on the fabulous imagery that this collection has to offer. 

I have made a printer tray style project, making it possible to create many different 

mini projects with each section.

There are so many images for each month in this collection that it was very easy to make this project with so much choice available. 

I layered the images in different combinations and tried to show case a carnival of colour.

Foam tape was used to create dimension in the different layers.

I would encourage you to try a printer tray project and definitely trap a copy of the 

Graphic 45 Time to flourish collection.
