Scrap Alphabet

" BOLD " This a word that I have used to describe my scrap colors from time to time. Scrap Alphabet tag for the letter B uses this word as its main theme.

B is for bold

The colors for this tag are definitely appropriate. They are in the warm tones and have a strong impact to the viewer.
The composition of the imagery is balanced so the colors are the main focus. I used a simple blended inking technique for the back ground in four main colors.
There is an assortment of paper flowers that have again been inked in the warmer colors and tie into the color palette of the tag.

The large flower was constructed using the tattered florals die and spraying it with ink and crumpling to create the distressed look. The small amount of glitter applied to the centre gives a lift to the whole flower. The branches were cut on my cricut and inked.
The large chip board font was inked and a sprinkling of embossing powder was used to give a distressed effect but still in keeping with bold nature of the tag.

The resources and materials I used were as follows :

No 8 shipping tag
assorted brads / eyelets / buttons
patterned paper scraps
card stock scraps
chipboard monogram
american crafts embossing powders (rouge )
tim holtz distress ink
( vintage photo, wild honey, festive berries, spiced marmalade )
martha stewart scallop three dot edge punch
tim holz distress embossing ink
tim holtz distress embossing powder ( fired brick )
distressing tool
flower shaping tool
ranger ink blending tool
sponge dauber
cricut machine and cartridge
heat gun

I hope you like the second installment in my alpha tag series. I trust you will leave a comment if you would like and share your own tags . Please email me a photo at

Steampunk Spells

I have been working on few different things lately and would like to share a small part of my latest mini album. I have been creating using the graphic 45 steam punk spells, which is a really cool collection with lots of great images. It has a lot of scope and I have created a paper bag mini as I love this type of mini album.

This first image is the inside of the front cover. I love the dimensionality of the cogs and they blend well the wonderful graphic 45 paper. I have used many colored inks and images from the collection as well as die cut cogs . I think it is a great opening to my album.

This page is one of the pocket pages in the album and was created using an on the edge die from tim holtz. There is a continued use of items from the collection, paper cut a parts, banners and fussy cut flowers, and the cog theme is followed through in the embellishment of the chipboard tag.

This page is one of my favorites. I have used the martha stewart spiderweb edge punch for the binding strip. The background paper has great images and the fussy cutting gives it some depth. The large clock is from the chip board elements and I love the accent it gives.

This section of the album is another favorite. The image of the lady is paramount in the steam punk spells collection. She has great impact and the chipboard frame works well with the layout of this page. the clocks are a great element and can be utilized in many ways.

Steam punk spells is an eclectic collection and has many creative opportunities. I hope you like my album thus far. I will be continuing to complete the pages and will share more in the coming weeks so stay tuned. Please join my followers if you  have not already and see my up and coming creations.

Place in Time Birthday Book

Our place in time is a some thing that a lot of us wonder about, Our birthdays are the one thing we can enjoy each year and remember those who are special to us.

I have created this wonderful birthday book album that will allow me to keep these special dates fresh in my mind. It was a pleasurable experience to use Graphic 45 Place in Time  paper collection to achieve my project creation.

The following photo is the cover of my book I love the central image taken from the sticker sheet from this collection, as well the fussy cut images and stamps.

The next series of photos represent the twelve calender months and my various layouts to achive the book in total.
I have tried to incorporate many of my scraps from my graphic 45 other collections as the coordinate so well with the place in time images.
