Time For Another Tag

Tim Holtz makes wonderful products and I aspire to have his skill level one day. This post is my demonstration of the use of his metallic distress stains. They have wonderful qualities that lend
themselves to many applications.

I have used them to create my background for this rustic distress clock tag. All three colors were used, those being tarnished brass, brushed pewter and antiqued bronze. I have also used distress inks in rusty hinge, vintage photo and gathered twigs. The embossing powders were american crafts zing powders in copper, pewter and chestnut. The clock hands were die cut from grunge board, distress stained with brushed pewter and sprinkled with embossing powder.

I have embossed the tag with a clock embossing folder and I placed lace at the bottom, that has been metallic distressed stained to coordinate.

I hope this tag inspires you to try distress stains whether they are metallic or from the original collection of distress colors. Thanks for dropping by and please become a follower if you wish, to keep up with my up and coming creations and I would love to get your comments.

Little Darlings Chest

The last little darlings project I made was my 8 x 8 album. This collection is my favorite graphic 45 range of papers, so making a second creation was a great opportunity.
I am well under way with this project and
look forward to showing more in the future.

I am awaiting the arrival of my graphic 45 tag staples then I can start the album for the inside.
There is still a little embellishing to go on the outside ,
but I was excited to share what
I have done so far .

So I hope you like my little darlings chest so far and will share
your thoughts by leaving a comment.

Blog Post Pause .... Tag - rific

It has been about a month since I have posted and hope to get back into sharing my creations with all my blog viewers. Well the graphic 45 team has been announced since my last post, I was not successful but am proud of my top thirty success. There were some wonderful team members chosen and there is always next year. I have completed a couple of tag projects and started a some bigger creations as well.

Old curiosity shoppe album has been put on pause at the moment to make way for some new ideas. I will get back to it soon and show the finished creation soon as indicated in my post.

I thought for this post would present my tag of the month for June. I loved creating this one and hope you will enjoy the theme I have chosen. I call this my jungle tag and the colors are really great ( tim holtz distress strikes again ).

I love the rustic greens and the great tone they have with brown shades of the tag. I used these distress ink colors peeled paint, forest moss, rusty hinge, gathered twigs and vintage photo. The background has an emboss resist technique created using clear embossing powder. The butterfly stamps were inked to coordinate with back ground as to make them blend into the tag. The other layered features give the embellishments some depth and work well together.

I look forward to sharing my next couple of tags and some other projects , so stay tuned for more creations to come and please leave a comment if you would like to, I'd love to hear your from you. I will have a sneak peek soon of a new little darlings projects as well a cool creation using kaiser craft timeless collection.
