Graphic 45 Tag - Staples

I have recently been creating using the graphic 45 tag staples.
They are very versatile and have provided the opportunity to incorporate them into a few of my tag
designs using different graphic 45 paper collections.

One of my previous projects, little darlings chest , I created the tag album using
the small size tag staple.
My recent tags I based around the large tag staples and gave me a lot of scope for design.

Steam Punk Spells Tag
This Tag is very bold and vibrant. I love this paper collection and it lends it self to many applications.
Have you completed any projects with steam punk spells ?

I have used quite a few of the papers and they all coordinate well as Graphic 45 al ways does.
This is the front view and I think the vintage lady on the weathered clock back ground
is a bold image and captures your attention. This section is also a lift up flap.
I used imaginarium cogs and diecuts to accent the steam punk theme, embellishing
them with assorted metal work.

The next two photos are the inside of the front. I love the images of this collection and the were easy to incorporate into the tags. I used the martha stewart spider web edge punch to decorate
the double pocket. The papers are so clean and vibrant extra embellishment would have diminished the wonderful pictures.

The back side is very strong in design and color. I love the fussy
cutting capacity of graphic 45 paper collections and steam punk spells is no exception.
The hot air balloons were a challenge to cut but absolutely worth the effort. They create a wonderful background behind the concertina fold booklet.
I also created multi layered flowers cut from the paper and shaped the petals to create dimensionality.
The wonderful chipboard frame and centre were taken from the coordinating
chipboard diecuts.

The next two photos show some of the detail and demonstrate
the concertina fold booklet.

Secret Garden by graphic 45 is a lovely collection. In the past I used this collection to create my picture window mini album . the creation was a twist on the concept of noahs ark. I love the detail and this collection has great images to choose from.

A few close ups to demonstrate the detail.

Scrap Alphabet

Creativity is a an experience that lets your imagination take you where you want it to go. Tags have great scope for this to occur and therefore my scrap alphabet tag for the letter c reflects this.

C is for create

This tag has a few techniques in the background and they include the use of tim holtz distress ink in three ways spraying, application with a blending tool and stamping, as well as stamping with pearlised paint. These techniques allow a soft muted background to be achieved.

The monogram was inked then heat embossed with lilac embossing powder to tone in with the background. The embellishments are by petaloo and wild orchid crafts in a floral theme and give the tag an over all feminine tone.

The products I used were as follows :

No 8 Shipping tag
We are memory keepers eyelets
Distress ink ( shaded lilac, Vintage photo, Frayed burlap )
Kaiser craft cling stamps
Alpha stamps
Pearlised paint
Zing embossing powder
chip board monogram
card stock in desired color
Assorted ribbon and trim
Wild orchid crafts roses and leaves
Petaloo darjeeling flowers

Let your own creativity flow and give tag making a try. You can use them as card toppers and layout journaling spots and as post cards to friends and family as well as many other applications.

What are you favorite embellishments to use on your creations and why ?. As you have noticed I love flowers and incorporate them as often as I can. Looking forward to reading your comments.

Cheers Andrew

Little darlings : A collection to Remember

Well I have not been blogging a lot over the last couple of months.
I have the final installment of my little darlings chest today.

This collection is my all time favorite collection and I thoroughly enjoyed making this project.

If you have used this collection please tell what you made and share a photo.
email me at

robaw7@hotmail.com

I made a shadow box style lid and filled it with embellishments that match Little darlings.
I also used the collection as well to create some of the embellishments.

The album inside was made with the graphic 45 tag staples, the small size.
I made individual tags, one for each of my children to display their newborn photos.

I love the soft colors but still maintaining that classic graphic 45 vintage theme.

Share your favorites in the comments section.

I look forward to sharing again soon.

Cheers Andrew

Cards.....

Cards can be used for many occasions and bring warmth and joy for both the sender and the recipient. I am not primarily a card maker but have enjoyed creating a few now and then.  It came to me that a card gift set would be wonderful gift and so I have created a card gift box.

The paper collection I used is from kaiser craft, called sweet nothings. The colors of this paper are very soft and allow the chocolate brown accents to stand out. I have continued to employ one of my signature design features through the use of layering and these were created by using paper, card stock, doily, as well different embellishment layers.

Now is probably a good time to share a few of the resources I used to created the finished product :

                                                Kaisercraft sweet nothings paper collection
                                                Bazzill cardstock
                                                Chipboard for box construction
                                                Paper doily
                                                Distress ink
                                                Zing embossing powder
                                                Wild orchid crafts base flowers
                                                Petaloo flowers
                                                Distress stains
                                                Kaisercraft clear Stamps
                                                micro buttons
                                                heart brads
                                                chipboard letters
                                                ribbon and bakers twine
                                                lace
                                                butterflies

Next are few close ups so you an enjoy the detail i have managed to achieve. There are few techniques in this creation but none are complicated so give them a go if you have the supplies. I have used heat embossing, distress staining, inking, paper distressing, stamping as well as the construction of the card box itself.

I trust you have enjoyed seeing my card box and hope that it will inspire you send out some cards or make card gift set for someone.

Cheers Andrew
